Destinations / Europe
Europe without the race.
Paris, Swiss lakes and mountains, and Italy's great cities — connected so the travel days contribute to the trip instead of consuming it.

Why Europe
- France's official Paris material emphasizes neighbourhoods such as Montmartre and the Latin Quarter in addition to monuments.
- Switzerland Tourism explicitly describes the Lucerne–Interlaken Express as an experience, supporting a rail-led rather than airport-led route.
- Switzerland's four seasons have distinct travel conditions, so alpine plans should remain flexible.
- Italy works better when Rome, Florence and Venice are given enough nights instead of compressed into single photo stops.
- Schengen visa application jurisdiction depends on the actual main destination / itinerary, so route design and visa planning are connected.
The Memorable Way
The purpose is not to make every itinerary longer. It is to make each travel day, hotel move and experience earn its place.
- Reduce countries before reducing nights in each city.
- Treat rail as part of the experience where it makes sense.
- Keep at least one weather-flexible Swiss mountain day.
- Make hotel location and station/luggage access explicit.
- Never use a generic 'apply through France' instruction unless France is genuinely the main destination under current rules.

Before you go
- Season: Switzerland Tourism states each of the four seasons has its own appeal; alpine conditions vary strongly by altitude and season. Paris and Italian cities can work year-round but heat, crowding, daylight and opening schedules change itinerary pace.
- Visa and entry: EU guidance defines a short-stay Schengen visa as up to 90 days in any 180-day period. For multiple Schengen states, the application is generally lodged with the consulate of the primary/main destination (or the first-entry country when stays are equal, per official rules). France-Visas provides India-specific processes and currently lists Pune among VFS submission locations. Entry and visa rules can change. Final requirements must be checked against current official sources for the traveller's passport, residence status and travel date.
- Insurance: Appropriate travel insurance is strongly recommended; check the cover suits your own circumstances.

Europe: common questions
How many countries in 10–12 days?
Usually fewer than travellers first request. Hotel changes and rail/flight time should be counted as real trip time.
Rail or flights?
Use rail when city-centre convenience and scenery improve the trip; use flights when distance and logistics genuinely justify it.
Where do I apply for a Schengen visa on a multi-country trip?
Official EU rules direct travellers to the consulate of the main/primary destination; when stays are equal, first-entry rules may apply. The actual itinerary must be checked.
Can a Swiss mountain excursion be guaranteed?
Operating conditions and weather must be checked close to travel; keep alternatives.
Do I need travel insurance?
Appropriate travel insurance is strongly recommended. Coverage suitability should be reviewed by the traveller.
