Thailand

Why Thailand

  • Bangkok, Chiang Mai and southern beach regions each contribute a distinct chapter rather than interchangeable stops.
  • TAT's official trip planner shows regional routes and explicitly separates central, north and south travel ideas.
  • Chiang Mai combines Lanna culture, Doi Suthep, markets, contemporary Nimman and mountain/nature options such as Doi Inthanon and Mae Kampong.
  • Phuket is not only a beach base: TAT highlights Old Town, Sino-European heritage and nearby coastal/island routes.
  • Thailand's monsoon-influenced climate means route and coast choice should be month-aware.

The Memorable Way

The purpose is not to make every itinerary longer. It is to make each travel day, hotel move and experience earn its place.

  1. For 6–7 days, choose Bangkok + one second region.
  2. For 8–10 days, a city + north + coast route becomes more defensible.
  3. Do not promise an island day until weather/operator conditions are checked.
  4. Hotel beach area matters in Phuket/Krabi as much as the hotel category.
  5. Food should be designed regionally: Bangkok and Chiang Mai should not feel like identical street-food tours.

Where to base yourself.

The area you stay in changes the trip, so we choose it before the hotel.

Before you go

  • Season: TAT describes Thailand as monsoon-influenced with rainy, cooler/drier and hot periods. So we plan by the actual province, coast and month, not one beach season for the whole country.
  • Visa and entry: Use the official Thai e-Visa / relevant Royal Thai Government or embassy guidance for the traveller's passport and dates. Exemption schemes and entry rules can change. Entry and visa rules can change. Final requirements must be checked against current official sources for the traveller's passport, residence status and travel date.
  • Insurance: Appropriate travel insurance is strongly recommended; check the cover suits your own circumstances.
