Why Turkey

  • GoTurkey's official platform presents Istanbul, Cappadocia and the Mediterranean coast as distinct travel worlds rather than one uniform route.
  • Istanbul deserves several days because historic, neighbourhood, market, ferry and contemporary experiences are spread across very different districts.
  • Cappadocia should work even if a balloon does not fly; valleys, cave heritage, crafts and food must carry the destination.
  • Antalya/coast should be added as a real chapter, not as a one-night afterthought.
  • For Indian travellers, visa eligibility requires current official verification.

The Memorable Way

The purpose is not to make every itinerary longer. It is to make each travel day, hotel move and experience earn its place.

  1. Never build Cappadocia around a guaranteed balloon flight.
  2. Use Istanbul ferry/neighbourhood time to break up monument-heavy sightseeing.
  3. Treat domestic flights as visible travel blocks.
  4. Make cave-hotel accessibility part of room selection for seniors/mobility-limited travellers.
  5. Add coast only when duration supports at least two meaningful nights.

Where to base yourself.

The area you stay in changes the trip, so we choose it before the hotel.

Before you go

  • Season: Turkey spans very different climates. Use city, plateau and coast logic separately. Balloon operations remain weather-dependent in any season; Mediterranean leisure has a stronger warm-season role.
  • Visa and entry: Turkey MFA currently states Indian ordinary, special and service passport holders require a visa. Holders of qualifying valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa/residence permits may be eligible for a conditional single-entry e-Visa if they meet all official conditions. Entry and visa rules can change. Final requirements must be checked against current official sources for the traveller's passport, residence status and travel date.
  • Insurance: Appropriate travel insurance is strongly recommended; check the cover suits your own circumstances.

How visa assistance works

Turkey: common questions

How many days for Istanbul + Cappadocia?

Six to seven days is a practical base for many first-time travellers; a coast chapter normally needs more.

Can a Cappadocia balloon be guaranteed?

No. Flights are weather/operator dependent. The route should still work if it does not operate.

Is Cappadocia only about balloons?

No. Landscapes, valleys, cave heritage, craft and food should support the destination independently.

Should Antalya be added to every route?

No. Add the coast only when the duration and traveller interests support it.

Do I need travel insurance?

Appropriate travel insurance is strongly recommended. Coverage suitability should be reviewed by the traveller.
