Nights at each stop

Why this journey works

Seven days is too short for a comfortable north-central-south sweep for many travellers. This route stays strong by focusing on three contrasting chapters and limiting domestic movement.

Day by day.

Hanoi 2 nights
A narrow Hanoi street with flags, plants and a railway line
  1. Day 01

    Arrive in Hanoi

    Morning
    Arrival according to flight schedule.
    Afternoon
Hotel check-in and rest; easy Old Quarter orientation if timing allows.
    Evening
Local food / lakeside / café-led first evening.

Memorable noteKeep arrival day flexible and avoid a major prepaid activity.

  2. Day 02

Hanoi — History, Streets & Food

    Morning
Temple of Literature and selected historic/cultural highlights.
    Afternoon
Old Quarter walking, Hoan Kiem area and neighbourhood exploration.
    Evening
    Food-focused walk or water-puppet / cultural option.

Memorable noteDo not overfill the day with museums; Hanoi's street and food life is part of the destination.

Ninh Binh 1 night
A pavilion on the water among limestone cliffs in Ninh Binh
  1. Day 03Travel day

    Hanoi → Ninh Binh

    Morning
Road transfer toward Ninh Binh; Hoa Lu or countryside stop depending routing.
    Afternoon
Trang An-style boat landscape; optional viewpoint based on fitness/weather.
    Evening
    Quiet countryside evening.

Memorable noteOvernighting turns Ninh Binh into a chapter instead of a rushed checklist day trip.

Hoi An 3 nights
A yellow shophouse with lanterns and a Vietnamese flag in Hoi An
  1. Day 04Travel day

    Ninh Binh → Central Vietnam

    Morning
Easy countryside morning / optional cycle.
    Afternoon
Transfer back toward aviation gateway and domestic connection to central Vietnam; onward transfer to Hoi An.
    Evening
Check-in and relaxed lantern-lit Old Town orientation if arrival time works.

Memorable noteTreat this as a travel day; do not hide transfer time behind attractions.

  2. Day 05

Hoi An — Old Town & Food

    Morning
Ancient Town orientation and heritage walking.
    Afternoon
Food / cooking / craft experience depending profile.
    Evening
    Riverside and Old Town evening.

Memorable noteHoi An rewards slower hours; avoid stacking multiple out-of-town excursions.

  3. Day 06Kept open

Hoi An — Choose Your Day

    Morning
Choice: countryside cycle, My Son heritage, beach or Da Nang/Marble Mountains-style extension.
    Afternoon
Continue selected experience or return for rest.
    Evening
Free evening / final food experience.

Memorable noteGive the traveller one real choice day instead of assuming everyone wants the same excursion.

Hoi An / Da Nang gateway Departure
  1. Day 07

    Departure

    Morning
    Free time depending flight.
    Afternoon
    Airport transfer and departure.

Memorable noteConfirm airport and departure timing when quoting.

Make it yours

  • Add Ha Long Bay by extending to 8–9 days.
  • Convert to honeymoon style with more free time and premium stay locations.
  • Replace Ninh Binh overnight with a day trip only if flight schedule requires it.

How we choose stays

We suggest a style of stay rather than a fixed hotel, then match it to your dates:

  • central city / neighbourhood fit
  • comfort level: value / comfort / premium
  • room configuration
  • breakfast / meal-plan assumption
  • late-arrival practicality
  • transfer-to-airport practicality

Good to know

This is a starting plan, not a fixed-price package. Flights, hotels, transfers and activity timings are confirmed when our experts quote your dates.
